On September 15–19, the Jagiellonian University hosted the Drafting School in International Contract Law and Dispute Resolution, a program dedicated to Ukrainian students preparing for moot courts such as Vis Moot and CDRC.
The initiative was organized by the German Arbitration Institute (DIS), the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), the Center for International Dispute Resolution at Bucerius Law School (CIDR) and the Jagiellonian University – as a gesture of support for the Ukrainian legal community and its next generation of lawyers.
On the second day, Maciej Durbas, partner and leader of the Arbitration Practice from KKG Legal, introduced the fundamentals of international arbitration, highlighting why it has become one of the leading methods of resolving cross-border disputes. He then guided the students through the essentials of the arbitration agreement, discussing its role as the cornerstone of arbitral proceedings and sharing practical insights from his professional experience.
On Wednesday, participants explored Kraków during a Guided City Tour, which we had the pleasure to organize. It was a perfect opportunity to take a break from the classroom, discover the city’s history and culture, and simply enjoy some time together outside the academic setting.
It was a great pleasure to meet you all, spend time together, and share experiences – both in and outside the classroom.
