On March 24, the 9th National Academic Conference on Real Estate Law, organized by ELSA Poznań, was held at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The event provided an opportunity to discuss the most significant challenges facing the real estate market today—particularly in the context of technological, social, and environmental changes.
Barbara Jelonek-Jarco, PhD, a partner at KKG Legal, who participated in the panel discussion titled “Real Estate Law and Market Globalization” was among the experts.
In her presentation, Barbara Jelonek-Jarco discussed the impact of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards on investment decisions and on the planning and implementation of real estate projects. She devoted particular attention to the issue of green leases, which, despite the lack of specific regulations, are gaining importance in commercial practice.
The presentation also included an analysis of current legal regulations and recent European Union decisions that have led to delays and restrictions on ESG reporting obligations. The issues raised are part of a broader discussion regarding the growing role of environmental and social factors in the evaluation of real estate investments.
The meeting provided an opportunity to examine the real estate market from a broader perspective—one that takes into account both legal aspects and changing market conditions, including the growing importance of environmental and social factors. The discussion showed that investment analysis in this sector is increasingly extending beyond traditional legal considerations to also encompass the regulatory context and global trends that influence how projects are planned and implemented.
