Attorney at law, holder of the title of Dr hab. in legal science, professor at the University of Social Sciences, professor at the Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, the President of the Allerhand Institute, Director at Centrum Formerly an academic at the Krakow University of Economics, University in Hamburg, New York University, and Jagiellonian University. Frequently represents Poland on expert teams, at international seminars, and scientific symposia. Expert on Polish, comparative, European, and international companies law. Interested in capital market law, economic law analysis, European commercial law, and international trade law.

In the years 2010-2014 and again since 2016, an expert of the European Parliament on companies law at the Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI). Appointed by the European Commission to the Informal Company Law Expert Group (ICLEG) – the European Commission’s advisory body in the field of development and reform of the European companies law. Participated in the works on drafting a directive on an European single-member company (SUP) conducted for the European Commission by a team of experts formed by extension of the former so-called Reflection Group (2013). As a member of the Legal Scholar Network at ECGI, involved in preparing to the commission of the European Commission a study regarding proportionality between ownership and control in public companies (One Share, One Vote) (2006-2007). A member of a team directed by TGS Baltic, preparing for the European Commission a study on the protection of minority shareholders’ rights in the EU.

Member of the Team for Systemic Solutions in Alternative Resolution of Commercial Disputes formed by the Minister of Economy in cooperation with the Minister of Justice (2013-2015). Since 2015, a member of the Team for Commercial Law formed by the Minister of Economy (currently – of Development). A head of a team of scholars to whom the Minister of Science and Higher Education entrusted development of assumptions for the reform of Polish science and higher education (Act 2.0) (2016-2017). Over the last decade, he also participated in public consultations of numerous drafts of statutes, self-regulatory acts, and regulatory policies, among others for the European Commission, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Editor-in-Chief of the Czasopismo Kwartalne Całego Prawa Handlowego, Upadłościowego oraz Rynku Kapitałowego (C.H. Beck) (2007-2010). Since 2015, a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Company Law bimonthly (Kluwer Law International). A member of the Advisory Board at the Center for European Company Law (CECL) – an international academic network associating universities in Leiden, Utrecht, Maastricht, Uppsala, and Rome.

Involved in legal reforms in Ukraine and Moldova. The Head of an international project realised for the EU Delegation in Kiev, covering the evaluation of the current status as well as recommendations for the reform of the Ukrainian companies law at the angle of adjusting it to acquis communautaire (2014). A participant of the European Delegation for the Harvard Project on Asian and International Relations in Dubai (2013).

The Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily included him twice within the first fifty most influential lawyers in Poland (2013, 2015). He was also mentioned in the young leader ranking of the Home&Market magazine (2008).
