A guest lecturer or visiting professor at numerous universities abroad, including: Rome (LUISS), Cluj (UBB), and incidentally also at: Chongqing (SWUPL), Ternopil (ТНЕУ), Lviv (ЛНУІФ), and St. Pölten (FHH). He completed many study or research stays, among others, in Ghent (Financial Law Institute), Munich (MPI Sozialrecht), Bonn (RFWU), Cologne (UzK/RIZ), and Kiel (CAU/EastLaw).
Graduate of the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Law and Administration (2001), where he also obtained a doctoral degree (2003) followed by habilitation (2016). In 2001, he obtained the LLM degree at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. He also completed a summer programme at the European University Institute in Florence (2004). Attorney-at-law – a member of the Krakow Bar. He also has managerial qualifications as a graduate of the Jagiellonian University Centre for Business Administration and Management and holds executive education certificates from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin (‘Strategisches Management” and “Fundraising”). He also completed a programme in Negotiation & Conflict Resolution at the Copenhagen Business School.
In the years 2014-2017 he received the European Commission appointment to serve on the I Informal Company Law Expert Group (ICLEG) – the EC advisory body for the development and reform of European company law. In 2013, he participated in the works on the draft of the European Single-Person Company Directive (SUP) conducted for the European Commission by a group of experts formed by extending the former so-called Reflection Group. In the years 2006-2007, as a member of the Legal Scholar Network at the ECGI, he was involved in preparing a study on proportionality between ownership and control in public companies (One Share, One Vote) commissioned by the European Commission. A member of a team managed by TGS Baltic which for the European Commission prepared a study on the protection of minority shareholders in the EU (2016-2017). In the years 2010-2014 and again from 2016, an expert on the company law for the European Parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI).
Since 2015, a member of the Expert Group on Economic Law – an advisory body of the Ministry of Economy. A member of the Expert Group for the Amicable Settlement of Commercial Disputes (ADR), appointed by the Minister of Economy in cooperation with the Minister of Justice (2013-2015). In the years 2016-2017, he was the Leader of a team appointed by Poland’s Minister of Science and Higher Education to come up with reform proposals for the enhancement of Polish academia (so called Act 2.0). Over the last ten years, he participated in public consultations of many draft laws, self-regulation acts, and regulatory policies for, among others, the European Commission, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Warsaw Stock-Exchange.
In the years 2007-2010, Editor-in-Chief of the Czasopismo Kwartalne Całego Prawa Handlowego, Upadłościowego oraz Rynku Kapitałowego quarterly (C.H. Beck). Since 2015, a member of the Editorial Board of the European Company Law bimonthly (Kluwer Law International).
Involved in legal reforms in Ukraine and Moldova. The Leader of the international mission for the European Union Delegation to Ukraine, covering the evaluation of the current state and provision of a set of recommendations for Ukrainian company law reform with the view of aligning Ukrainian legislation to the acquis communautaire (2014).
A participant of the European Delegation to the Harvard Project on Asian and International Relations in Dubai (2013).
The Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, a leading Polish business daily, included Arkadiusz on its list of 50 MOST INFLUENTIAL LAWYERS IN POLAND twice (ranked 24th in 2013, and 40th 2015). He was also featured in the young leader ranking of the Home&Market magazine (2008).
